Material Matters: Re-Establishing Lime Plaster on Historic Buildings
The original plaster applied to the exterior walls of Blandwood was lime plaster (probably coated with limewash). Lime is an ancient building material and is most often produced by heating certain types of limestone in a kiln (although sea shells and coral can also be used to make lime).
