Eric Woodard, “The Mod Man”, will present "Building Greensboro - Foundations of Our Mid-Century Modern History". Learn how Greensboro blazed a different path during the Civil Rights Era that departed from traditional narratives found throughout the southeastern United States.
Benjamin Briggs is Preservation Greensboro’s Executive Director, and he will provide a visual review of the history of Guilford County and especially Greensboro with a particular focus on architectural styles and themes that are celebrated in our city.
The Governor Morehead Forum will convene a landmark event to Greensboro when it hosts six high education Presidents: Rosalind Fuse-Hall of Bennett College, Carol Quillen of Davidson College, Richard Brodhead of Duke University, Leo Lambert of Elon University, Jane Fernandes of Guilford College, and Nathan Hatch of Wake Forest University at an educational summit. The event will be moderated by D.G. Martin of North Carolina Bookwatch, and will focus on shared opportunities and challenges in higher education.
Ms. Donnell will review the discoveries uncovered during her study of the Morehead family, and will focus on research methodology, challenges, and discoveries. The Morehead history is complicated, yet in many ways typical of nineteenth century South. Perhaps Ms. Donnell can inspire you to complete family genealogy, or perhaps you can share your tips and findings with others!
