Insider Tour: Printworks Mill

Greensboro is enjoying a boom of rehabilitation and restoration projects involving historic industrial properties. Our special Insider Tours will explore a number of stunning examples of these renovations, including the Printworks Mill (1913). The Proximity Print Works Mill, located at 1700 Fairview Street, was the first textile printery in the American South. The once-abandoned finishing plant for Cone Industries was purchased in 2017 by the Alexander Company of Madison, Wisconsin. The campus was creatively reinvented as a multi-family housing community by a team including Project Manager David Vos, Rehab Builders of Winston-Salem, and Plageman Architecture of Burlington. Join us for a tour of this now complete former manufacturing site that stands as an award-winning member of Greensboro’s impressive pantheon of creative industrial re-use projects!
