Greensboro is enjoying a boom of rehabilitation and restoration projects involving historic industrial properties. Our special Insider Tours will provide a preview of stunning examples of these renovations, including the Mock, Judson, Voehringer Company Hosiery Mill (1927-1938). The Mo-Jud (as it was popularly known), located at 2610 Oakland Avenue, was a leading employer in Greensboro. The abandoned hosiery plant was purchased by the Durham-based Capitol Broadcasting Co. Inc., the developer of the American Tobacco Campus there. The property is in the process of an adaptive reuse for multi-family housing through a team including architect Eddie Belk and general contractor CT Wilson, imagineers for Greensboro’s Revolution Mill. Join us for a tour of this former manufacturing site that promises to add to Greensboro’s impressive pantheon of creative industrial re-use projects! Space is limited and this tour does involve walking through challenging areas. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. Contact Kathryn for your reservation.
