Hillside Estate, A Designer Showhouse
April 7, 2018 @ 10:00 am - May 6, 2018 @ 5:00 pm
We are excited to introduce you to Hillside, the historic Julian Price home presented as a Designer Showhouse benefitting Preservation Greensboro Incorporated.
This event is being held to raise awareness of historic preservation by celebrating a landmark of statewide significance here in Greensboro, and to raise funds to help Preservation Greensboro meet its mission to build thriving communities by protecting and renewing our historic and architectural treasures.
Hillside is an historic mansion located amidst the well-preserved, tree-lined Fisher Park neighborhood and is just blocks from downtown Greensboro. The house was designed by noted architect Charles C. Hartmann and was built in 1928 for the Insurance executive Julian Price. The four-story, 31-room residence of Tudor Revival architecture spans 7,266 square-feet on its wooded lot. It features a three-story polygonal stair tower, red-brown rough fired brick, and half-timbering with stucco.
Tickets to explore Hillside are sold in two-hour time brackets through May 6th. In the interest of enhancing our customer’s tour experience, we request that you arrive at the site during your two-hour time bracket. Please have proof of sale ready at the door on your smart device or in printed form.
IMPORTANT: Please avoid wearing spiked heels that may damage historic oak wood floors. Leave your pets, backpacks, strollers, food, and drink at home. Children must have tickets and be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please respect closed doors and personal items. The house is not accessible for persons with disabilities. Fisher Park has ample public parking. Please follow all parking laws. Tour guide books will be available upon arrival. The showhouse is rain or shine.
Thank you for your partnership in preservation!
