Swigs and Switchmen: Cascade Saloon Transformation Tour
November 2, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
PLEASE CONTACT THE PGI OFFICE TO PURCHASE TICKETS. MONDAY-FRIDAY 9am-4pm, 336-272-5003.
From its glory days as Greensboro’s primary watering hole to its strange middle age to its stretch on “death row” as a lost cause to some, the historic Cascade Saloon building has always been literally – and figuratively – at a crossroads. Come see the exciting renovation in progress and hear details from some of the skilled artisans and preservationists who are giving this historic gem new life from the inside out by repurposing it as the new offices of The Christman Company.
The preservation benefit at the Cascade Saloon will allow guests to enjoy victuals and libations as they explore the 1895 brick building and meet members of the team that helped make this preservation project a reality. The Cascade Saloon is a project like no other, involving 14 years of planning and advocacy by members of Greensboro’s preservation community. Two floors will be available for tour with a view of the new mezzanine so that you can see the scope and scale of work being done to convert this neglected treasure into a chic office environment. Learn more about these preservation efforts, explore the structure, and meet new friends! A limited number of reservations are available!
All proceeds benefit Preservation Greensboro. Please wear closed-toe shoes! Public parking is available off West Barnhardt Street and on-street.
Wine, beer, and appetizers included in the $30 ticket charge.
